Pinned topic Local Help in RDz V9.0

‏2013-07-16T07:06:25Z |

I installed RDz V9.0 and in the installation step I pointed to have the Help in local. Now, when I try to install the local help in the post installation task, I am not able to start the local help updater, so I cannot proceed with the local help installation.

I receive a popup window saying

"A connection to the Local Help Updater cannot be established. Save all your work, restart the application, and then retry to update your help content"

In past versions, I had no problems in installing the local help, starting the local help updater and then pointing to a local or remote site.

Can anybody give me  a hint?

    digging more into this problem when starting the local help updater I find the following message in the Error Log view

    "Jetty plugins are unavailable, could not start local server." Plugin : com.ibm.ut.ic.server

    If I double click on this error I get this session data

    eclipse.buildId=unknown
    java.fullversion=JRE 1.7.0 IBM J9 2.6 Windows XP x86-32 20130306_140761 (JIT enabled, AOT enabled)
    J9VM - R26_Java726_SR4_FP1_20130306_1011_B140761
    JIT  - r11.b03_20130131_32403ifx1
    GC   - R26_Java726_SR4_FP1_20130306_1011_B140761
    J9CL - 20130306_140761
    BootLoader constants: OS=win32, ARCH=x86, WS=win32, NL=en_US
    Framework arguments:  -product com.ibm.rational.developer.systemz.product.ide
    Command-line arguments:  -os win32 -ws win32 -arch x86 -product com.ibm.rational.developer.systemz.product.ide

    If I set the Help to work remotely, it works properly, but I wan't to have it locally in my workstation and I am still unable to start the Local Help Updater.

    Any ideas?

    Hello Rafa,

    This issue is caused as you have discovered from a missing jetty plug-in.  Here is link to a technote from a different Rational product that was experiencing the same issue.  The technote contains the missing plug-in which you can download as well as instructions that should resolve the issue for you.  If you have any questions, just let us know.
