Pinned topic hide column header on the section report

‏2013-06-24T17:35:39Z |

Hi Cognos Gurus,

Cognos Report studio 10.1, relational model,List report.

I have created a simple report using the following columns.

col 1 - Order Number  EX: S455, S487, S980,

Col 2 - Account number (Ex: 234, 94383,938)

Col 3 - Name

Col 4 - Date

I created a section on Order number so the order number is going to be dynamically changes every time could be S455 this time maybe S456 next time etc.

Basically the user want to display only one time the column header on the very first list and the rest of the list report section user don't want to see the list column header so how can I hide the column header except the very first list report.

Thanks,

Winson.

In the List Properties there is an option for "Column Titles" in the General section. The options here are "At start of list", "At start of details", or "At start of first details on page". I think you want "At start of details", but test them out to see what works for you.

    Good luck,
    Opher

      Thanks for the reply Opher.

Yes actually I tried before I post this question but I am doing the section so the list report will have section on the same page many times.

      ex:

      for the order number

      S456

list 1 with the column header

      S620

List 2 (we don't have to display the col header for this list or the below list )

I used Boolean variable to hide ex:

      [Order number]=S456

box type =none it is working but since the order number is going to be dynamic so not sure what to do at this point.

      Thanks,

      Winson.

        Hi Winson,

Can you post report specification based on the gosales model. so that we can understand what you exactly want and from there we can help you..

        thanks,

        Suresh.

I am going to assume you require the section header to only display on the first page of the detail list which spans multiple pages.  Attached please find a 10.2 example which goes against the Go Sales(query) samples.  The approach uses the Overall List header of the detail list to display the section label.  The true section label is hidden but can be removed as well.

      Hi Daniel,

Does this work when there are nested sections ?

      Thanks,
