Pinned topic v7000 and ODX (Offload Data Transder) support

‏2014-05-22T16:55:46Z |

hi guys

I am working on  a project with Hyper-V and when deploying Virtual Machines is kinda slow since is based on SMB and looks like is using https, the microsoft consultant and this article says we need Offload Data Transfer to have better speed since ODX won't use https instead it will use fast file copy

http://insidevirtualization.com/windows-server-2012-r2/odx-along-with-scvmm-2012-r2-fast-file-copy/

any idea if v7000 supports ODX?

thanks a lot

ODX requires the SAN supports the T10 standard, which the entire Storwize and SVC family does, so I expect it to Work. I havent been able to find any official support statement about it though.

Thanks AndersLorensen, it's the same for me I have not been able to find any official or not official documentation

ODX support was announced with 7.5.0.x code

Prior SVC/Storwize code levels will not support ODX
