Pinned topic Any way to export or save an entire collection?

‏2013-05-07T12:44:20Z |

When moving operations from one server to another, or when a server must be rebuilt, it would be useful to save ICA collections to an external file or directory, so that it can be quickly recreated on the new/rebuilt environment.  Is anyone aware of a method for saving and restoring a collection quickly?  Something that includes collection settings, index fields, facet tree, etc. would be nice.

    Hi Matt,

I'm just wondering if you have viewed the instructions on exporting and importing collections.   Please view "Exporting and importing collection configurations" through info center:

    http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/analytic/v3r0m0/topic/com.ibm.discovery.es.ad.doc/iiysaexpimp.htm?resultof=%22%65%78%70%6f%72%74%22%20%22%63%6f%6c%6c%65%63%74%69%6f%6e%73%22%20%22%63%6f%6c%6c%65%63%74%22%20

    1. I know this only covers the configuration and no index data is exported.

    2. The export and import will only work if you are using the same product version.

    Hope this helps!
    Neil
