Pinned topic How to implement Java's String.split() function

‏2013-12-03T20:53:57Z |

Hi all,

Using:  EGL services v8.5.1.1; WAS v6.1

I would like to use Java's String.split() method instead of re-coding this in EGL.  Are there any best practices when creating a Java externalType part.  In particular - and if its possible - to define the String.split() method.  What would be the best practice for naming my EGL package for the externalType?

Does the following definition look correct?

package com.mycompany.myapp.myjava;

// externalType
externalType split type JavaObject {javaName = "String", packageName = "java.lang.Object"}

    //  String.split()
    function split(regex string in, limit int in) returns(string[]);
end

Thanks,

Daron

    I found the answer here: Map java array in EGL

    I should have done my initial search on String.split instead of externalType and combing through all the fog.
