Looking for an approach to this problem. I don't have a clear picture of the pieces and how DSD fits into the Windows system.
Recently upgraded from DB2 Connect 9.1 to DSD 10.1 fp2. Mostly fine. We found a SQL Server job that polls z/OS DB2 a 1000 times (every 10 secs) that seems to fail (not every time) on the last or near the last poll with:
SSIS Error Code DTS_E_CANNOTACQUIRECONNECTIONFROMCONNECTIONMANAGER. The AcquireConnection method call to the connection manager "DB2" failed with error code 0xC0202009. There may be error messages posted before this with more information on why the AcquireConnection method call failed.
On the process monitor, seeing messages for each file in DS Driver (cfg, lic, lvl filetypes):
FASTIO_NETWORK_QUERY_OPEN <insert each individual DSD file a bazillion times> FAST IO DISALLOWED
We don't seem to get any errors with simple jobs (singletons). I'm trying to get tests done that can qualify that and otherwise find the conditions that cause it to occur.
So from the above, it could be a DSD problem but feels more like an MS problem in job management. Is there a relatively "standard" approach to this kind of problem? Other than testing to define the trigger and limits of the problem and opening a PMR, what next?
