Pinned topic Enterprise WebService Call locking AD account on First Bad Request

‏2014-02-04T18:56:26Z |

Hi All,

I'm having a strange account issue when authenticating to a Maximo Enterprise Web Service, via Active Directory, when using LDAP.   Basically the request works fine when providing correct credentials via a SOAP Request Header (Basic Auth).  It also works fine, when providing credentials to the UI cluster (Form Login).   The account locks after 5 bad attempts as expected

The issue is when I use my .NET Web Form application to send the request, with Bad credentials in the header.  The account locks right away. (receive a 401 unauthorized error).

It almost seems that the Enterprise web service is sending 5 bad requests at once.  Is there anything I can do to troubleshoot this?  Am I missing a Webshpere setting?

thanks for your time.

If anyone is looking for a solution to this, it was a custom property I needed to add in websphere ldap security.   The common URL for our LDAP was resolving into multiple IP's and multiple bad requests.
