Pinned topic WAS CE out of support, looking for alternative for full JEE 6 support

‏2013-11-20T06:09:05Z |

Hi,

I understood that WAS CE will go out of support and that the Liberty profile is suggested as a replacement.

http://www-01.ibm.com/common/ssi/cgi-bin/ssialias?infotype=AN&subtype=CA&htmlfid=897/ENUS913-081&appname=USN

My question is:

What would be the best option to find an alternative for EJB based webservices ? I need the full JEE 6 profile, right ?

If I move the code to the webcontainer, I'll loose some of the transaction support (or not ?)

Thanks

Yes For development purposes, but I understood that production requires a license (per 140 PVU $ 3500 ?!)

We have the same problem, with the addition that WAS CE / Geronimo has not fully implemented the Transaction Manager because it does not propagate the transaction context to other JVMs.

This year 2014 we will assess migrate to
Geronimo +  IBM JDK + Atomikos as TM.
