Pinned topic IBM BPM v8 - Outbound REST webservice calls

‏2013-04-23T18:17:57Z |

In v 7.5.1, I was aware that outbound REST calls are not supported while you can use the  "Read from HTTP" to implement GET calls. I was surprised that the outbound calls weren't supported especially when the REST API to interact with BPM was provided. So it was not like the technology wasn't adopted.

Anyway with v8, is the support added? I looked around in Process Designer and couldn't find a service related to REST calls.

Thanks for looking.

    Hi,

I too was surprised that REST outbound wasn't available.  What I did was write my own Java Class and Integration Service to achieve this.  I have made it available "as-is" here:

If you are using Advanced version, you can use the AIS and HTTP adapter also. The support on WAS for the HTTP bindings are good too for maintenance.

Manish's reply is far better than mine.  As he says, if you have the opportunity to use IBM BPM Advanced for integration, THAT should be the answer.
