‏2013-05-31T10:35:50Z |

Dear All,

One of my customer has 5 x3650 M3 server and its running CentOS 5.5 Final. There  is no error on the LDP panel but if the following command is used it shows the result as below.

root@isjs001 ~]# psh -s isfs /opt/MegaRAID/MegaCli/MegaCli64 -AdpBbuCmd -GetBbustatus -a0 | grep -i "state of charge"

isfs001:        Relative State of Charge: 98 %

isfs001:        Absolute state of charge: 85 %

isfs002:        Relative State of Charge: 100 %

isfs002:        Absolute state of charge: 88 %

isfs003:        Relative State of Charge: 94 %

isfs003:        Absolute state of charge: 83 %

isfs004:        Relative State of Charge: 98 %

isfs004:        Absolute state of charge: 86 %

isfs005:        Relative State of Charge: 99 %

isfs005:        Absolute state of charge: 0 %

[root@isjs001 ~]#

[root@isjs001 ~]# psh -s isfs /opt/MegaRAID/MegaCli/MegaCli64 -AdpBbuCmd -GetBbustatus -a1 | grep -i "state of charge"

isfs001:        Relative State of Charge: 98 %

isfs001:        Absolute state of charge: 0 %

isfs002:        Relative State of Charge: 95 %

isfs002:        Absolute state of charge: 0 %

isfs003:        Relative State of Charge: 96 %

isfs003:        Absolute state of charge: 0 %

isfs004:        Relative State of Charge: 98 %

isfs004:        Absolute state of charge: 85 %

isfs005:        Relative State of Charge: 98 %

isfs005:        Absolute state of charge: 83 %

The result shows "Absolute state of charge: 0 %" on many server. what does this means? are the batteries are going to fail or they are not charging or need replacement.I am also attaching the DSA log of the servers. Please need urgent solution or any clarification.

regards

    Dear Usman,

OS CentOS is not supported for server x3650m3. Could you provide DSA log collected with DSA Preboot Edition (restart server and press F2, or use DSA Preboot Edition Standalone CD).

We have a customer with a lot of x3650M3 with M5014 and M5015 with batteries. Few of them have iBBU08, but mostly are "old" iBBU. All servers have 1-2 years. Lot of "old" iBBU dies. ServerRaid manager shows iBBU status as "failed". As far i remember in BIOS WebUI, BBU compartment doesn't show such information, but if you'll check volume status, system should says that it's in write-through mode case BBU is failed.

    Check this document.
    https://www-947.ibm.com/support/entry/myportal/docdisplay?lndocid=MIGR-5089843
As far i could remember WebUI prognoses for method 4 (default for "old" iBBU) 2 years of life.
