Pinned topic Storage

Hi,

We have a SAN attached to a clearcase server, where we are currently facing some space issues. We are planning to move the data/pool of a few VOBs to a NAS device, so that we can free some space on SAN. Will there be any access issues if we do this? Please advise.

Regards,

Dinil

Depending on the NAS device there may be some specific configuration to do. For NetApp for example there are a couple whitepapers written and notes in the ClearCase admin guide about setup and configuration. What OS is the vob server host? For Linux or Unix as another example you will need to ensure root access is available from the vob server to the vob storage area.

You might find it productive to set up a test vob on one of the NAS volumes to ensure that you're able to get it working properly before migrating any production data.
