Pinned topic Seeing Synergy Tasks in Change

‏2013-04-19T20:36:25Z |

If we have 2 Synergy DCM databases for code and one other database for a Change instance to be a CR repository, can Change be made to see the Tasks of the 2 code databases (realtime, not DCM)? Is there a format to the query, probably using the DCM ID, to see tasks of other databases; like relating task DCMA#1 and task DCMB#1 to a CR?

Thanks

    Gallilot,

What version of Change are you using?

If you are able to use latest version, you may try the central mode of Change server.

This link document would give you more idea of it:

    Hope it helps!

We are going to use Change 5.3.

We tried looking at central server before (probably the version before 5.3). Because of funding we shelved switching to Synergy three years ago. I think our license back then was a temp to try the central server out and we couldn't get the query we needed to work.

    (cvtype='problem') and
    has_associated_ir_of_cp(has_associated_task(cvtype="task" ))

We were trying to get a list of CPs that have IRs with tasks. Not sure where it broke down at. The CPs were probably in the CR DB and the tasks in the dev DB. IRs were probably in the CR DB.

Unless we figure something out, it looks like our our IT team will periodically DCM IRs from the CR DB to the dev DB, the developer relate the tasks, then IT will DCM the IRs back to the CR DB for CR meetings/presentations. It seems that we can't DCM the tasks directly to the CR DB because the objects can't be removed from the package. But it looks like the IRs can be DCM'd with just the tasks (no objects in the send package).
