Pinned topic IBM_JAVA_OPTIONS and user.timezone

‏2014-04-30T12:03:30Z |

I have a problem with IBM J9 32bit SR4 on iSeries V7 or V6 (French) with IBM_JAVA_OPTIONS.

I create a simple class

public class AStimezone {
    public static void main(final String[] args) {
        System.out.println("user.timezone=" + System.getProperty("user.timezone") + " user.language="
            + System.getProperty("user.language") + " java.awt.headless="
            + System.getProperty("java.awt.headless"));

I copy AStimezone.class in / tmp on iSeries

In QSH :

> export -s JAVA_HOME=/QOpenSys/QIBM/ProdData/JavaVM/jdk60/32bit

> export -s IBM_JAVA_OPTIONS="-Duser.timezone=Zulu -Duser.language=EN -Djava.awt.headless=true"

> cd /tmp

>  java -cp /tmp AStimezone

The result is : user.timezone=Europe/Zurich user.language=EN java.awt.headless=true

user.language and java.awt.headless are corect but user.timezone is incorrect, Europe/Zurich is my default timezone

Run with :

>  java -cp /tmp -Duser.timezone=Zulu AStimezone

user.timezone=Zulu user.language=EN java.awt.headless=true

The result is correct,  but I need to use IBM_JAVA_OPTIONS

Bug or not supported ?

Thank for your reponse
