I have exact same problem. Inventory collection during upgrade fails.

Tested to run inventory collection separatly, and that fails as well, both on server and os mep.

Any ideas how to make inventory collection to work again. Access to meps are ok.

    /Roger

I solved the problem I had in my environment. Found some old information from 2011 that solved it.

    - net stop dirserver

    - Delete the following folder: < director_install_root>/data/tivoli/cce

    - net start dirserver

    Then the inventory collection worked.

You can read about it here :

Nirvoh, thanks for the reply, but that did not help.....i am so frustrated with isd!!.

since then, i have uninstalled and re-installed completely 6.35 and every time i have the same issue.

Access request failed by IBM Systems Director Server to system "ffcpmon1.ffusa.com (5884)" due to error code "5(attempt failed)"

i get this error on the ISD server and i think it is the crux of the issue.  I cannot get it to log in to itself and as a result, it cannot inventory etc.  I am sure this is not a creds issue, if I request access for another server, it works..

i am going to open a new post on this, i just wish ibm would pay more attention to these forums
