Pinned topic Missing preprpnode command

‏2014-05-21T15:26:08Z |

Posting this for a customer who has Linux support with IBM. He is looking for the preprpnode command to complete a DB2 cluster installation on SLES 11. He found docs that suggested that this should be part of the rsct* package but it is missing. The man page is there but not the actually command.

Is this a packaging issue with the rsct (core / utils)?

Thanks.

The RSCT package rsct.basic provides the preprpnode command, it should be installed along with TSA as part of the overall DB2 installation.

Do you have a link to where this can be found so that I can pass it along to the customer?

This is the official documentation of the preprpnode command

    http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/aix/v6r1/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm.aix.rsct312.admin%2Fbl503_prepsec.htm

However, RSCT doesn't describe the particular package, so the customer should check whether rsct.basic is installed. If not, and this is what I expect, the db2 installation is broken. And in this case the recommendation is to reinstall.
