Pinned topic V7000: Management IP ping response time out intermediately

‏2014-03-20T18:47:49Z |

Hi All,

We have V7000 storage running 7.x firmware. While using GUI for administration we observed slow response. While troubleshooting we have observed that if we ping V7000 management IP, we are getting "Request timed out" intermediately.

Network team has confirmed that there is no issue from network front. Please help me to resolve this issue.

Thanks.

    Couple of thoughts:

    1. Are you using the same Ethernet port for iSCSI traffic?

    2. The V7000 firewall implements ping rate limiting, so attempting to test connectivity from multiple systems at the same time is very likely to result in packet drops.

If you need help resolving the issue then it's best to open a ticket with IBM Support.

    Hi,

We are not using iscsi on this storage. Do we have any document available which talks about V7000 firewall....???

    Thanks.

I don't believe there is any information about the firewall published in the public domain;  there is no reason for an end-user to be aware of it and there are no user-configurable settings.
