Pinned topic Hive failed to install

‏2014-08-19T15:43:24Z |

Hi community,

I installed BI EE 3.0 on RHEL 6.5 with GPFS and Adaptive MapReduce. Unfortunatelly I got this error during installation.

[ERROR] DeployManager - hive failed
java.lang.NullPointerException
    at com.ibm.xap.mgmt.hive.HiveDeployer.installConfig(HiveDeployer.java:343)
    at com.ibm.xap.mgmt.DeployManager$InstallThread.doInstall(DeployManager.java:2781)
    at com.ibm.xap.mgmt.DeployManager$InstallThread.work(DeployManager.java:2818)
    at com.ibm.xap.mgmt.DeployManager$WorkerThread.run(DeployManager.java:2725)

It's 3 node cluster if its any help. I attached full log. Is there any way how to install Hive afterwards?

Thanks for any information leading to solution.

Martin

The problem was because of this. During installation you get default node name localhost at Node list. You have to edit it to the proper value (e.g. master.bivm.com). When following installation at the component tab the node for hive remained set to the localhost. You have to set it to proper value (e.g. master.bivm.com).
