Pinned topic ICA Plugin performance

‏2014-01-14T13:23:21Z |

Hi,

when using a desktop with the ICA plugin configured, we see a drop in performance during login. Using FireFox dev tools we see that there is a waiting time of 126secs. Could you please fill us in what is happening here, and how can we speed up this process?

See the attachements for more info, (client data for desktop config has been removed).

ICA is running on WAS on a separate box.

What versions of software are involved?  Can you make sure you have Content Navigator 2.0.2 Fixpack 1 running on the ICN server and ICA 3.0 Fixpack 4 installed on the ICA server?

Other questions that may help narrow down the scope:

    Is there SSO involved?

Are you using an HTTP server or just the standard WAS 9080 port?

Do you have a load balancer or are you going direct to the WAS server?

Are there any errors on the ICA server?  Any errors printed in the ICN logs?

It looks like it is related to ICA configuration, can you forward this to that group?

The file configuration is not documented in infocenter for this file

    Hi Patrick,

Before we go further the first thing you should do is update to the latest fix packs on both products.  In particular, I seem to recall one or two other customer PMR's with similar situations and I also seem to remember there being fixes put in to the Fixpack 3 and Fixpack 4 lines for ICA.

From there, if this still persists, you should probably open a PMR so we can take a closer look between the ICN and ICA teams.
