This Service Bulletin contains information about a new z/TPF APAR download tool as well as information about earlier product update (PUT) level availability.
z/TPF APAR Download Tools
The lab is pleased to announce the availability of an APAR download tools package on the z/TPF tools website. These tools can be used to query, download, and unpack z/TPF and z/TPFDF product APARs (including open source APARs) and, then merge them into a common directory. The tools are a set of shell scripts that run on the Linux for zSeries platform. For more information, click the following link:
Earlier PUT level availability
Currently, the z/TPF product delivery website contains the e-delivery packages for all PUT distributions from PUT 1 through PUT 7. Starting with PUT 8, the delivery website will maintain only the four latest PUT distribution packages. When the PUT 8 package is made available, the packages for PUT 1 through PUT 4 will be removed. Next year, when PUT 9 is made available, PUT 5 will be removed, and so on.
There is no change to the z/TPF maintenance delivery website (APAR). All APARs beginning with PUT 1 will remain available for download. By using the APAR download tools described previously, you now can generate PUT-like packages on an as-needed basis for ranges of APARs that you define.
