Business event processing enhancements provide improved error handling and monitoring capabilities for business events.
Data collection and the IBM Tivoli Monitoring Agent for z/TPF were updated to provide information about business events usage. The data reduction reports were updated to include the following information:
-
The high water mark for messages on a WebSphere MQ queue, which was added to the MQSeries data collection reports.
-
A business events summary report, which includes information about the number of ECBs that were used to process business events.
-
A common deployment report, which includes usage information for deployment descriptors.
The Monitoring Agent for z/TPF also was updated to display the common deployment usage information. Download Version 1.1.1 of the monitoring agent from the TPF Family Products: Tools web page (http://www.ibm.com/software/htp/tpf/maint/toolsztpf.html).
The following enhancements were made to improve error handling:
-
Error messages were added to provide more information about why an error occurred during business event processing.
-
Support for an optional error queue and an optional error program was added. When you create a business event specification, you can define an error queue. If an error occurs before processing of a business event is completed, the data is added to the error queue. With the error queue, you can review the event data and determine what caused the error. Additionally, you can create an optional error program that can be used to do additional processing to the event data when an error occurs.
Additionally, continuous data collection (CDC) was updated to provide support for a remote WebSphere MQ queue manager.
