Transport Layer Security (TLS) support for enhanced HTTP client and high speed connector (APAR PJ45258) provides a way to establish secure sessions to remote servers.
With this support, you can configure persistent sessions for the enhanced HTTP client and high speed connector to be TLS enabled. APAR PJ45258 also provides support for TLS enabled non-persistent enhanced HTTP client sessions. When you complete the configuration for the TLS enabled sessions for either the enhanced HTTP client or the high speed connector, the application needs only a single API call to send secure requests to remote servers.
This support also provides the following functionality:
- Improved problem diagnostics for shared SSL applications
- Support for non-blocking SSL_read and SSL_write function processing from shared SSL applications
- Enables z/TPF REST consumer requests to flow across TLS sessions
