This 2-unit, self-paced virtual course (SPVC) provides a technical introduction to the IBM WebSphere DataPower SOA Appliance family at the Version 5 firmware level.
Unit 1 begins with the benefits of using a purpose-built appliance solution to network security and connectivity issues. The core models of the WebSphere DataPower family are described at a high level for a basic understanding of these members of the DataPower family. A sample message flow is described, showing typical processing actions as the message moves through the appliance on to a back-end application system. The details of each appliance are listed, as well as the available optional features. To conclude the quick overview, other products that have a DataPower family relationship are briefly outlined.
Unit 2 presents typical use cases and topologies that the SOA DataPower Appliance family supports. After completing this unit, you should be able to describe the typical use cases where DataPower appliances are used. You can view Unit 2 here -http://youtu.be/4j5r0RkifU0
