Creating Price Ranges for Specific Categories
In FEP5, we added the functionality to allow you to control which facets can display for which category using the FACETCATGRP table. With this new functionality, it has become much easier to set up different price ranges for specific categories. This is useful if your store sells a wide variety of products with widely varying price ranges.
For example, say you sell computers and electronic components. Category A might have products ranging from 50 - 200 dollars, so it makes sense to make price ranges in increments of 50. Category B, on the other hand, has prices from 1 dollar to 20 dollars. For this category, the same price range would not work.
You can follow the below steps on creating your own price range. This example is setting a new price range in the Aurora sample store for the 'meat' category:
Here is an example of the configuration where I define new price ranges for the 'Meat' category. Note, that there is currently no way to configure this through Management Center.
If you are on FEP6, you will need iFix JR48945 for this last step to work. This fix is included in FEP7+.
