Cumulative Fix 8 is available now from the Fix Central website:
As well as many bug fixes, it includes some usability improvements for the breadcrumb and for content positioning.
Once you have installed Cumulative Fix 8, you will notice that the usability of the breadcrumb has been improved to make navigating around your libraries easier. Now, if you are viewing Content in one library:
When you change to view another library, the Content of the second library will be shown immediately:
Additionally, workflow item types can be accessed from inside the item types dropdown menu:
Once you have installed Cumulative Fix 8, you can set the following parameter in the WCMConfigService service using the IBM® WebSphere® Application Server administration console:
in order to specify the number of libraries that should be shown in the authoring interface breadcrumb. If more than this number of libraries are configured, the remaining libraries will be accessible through the 'Select from all libraries' option. If this parameter is not set, 10 libraries will be shown. Specifying this parameter may be useful if content authors often have more than 10 libraries configured, in which case the value of this parameter could be set to 16, for example.
We have also made some usability improvements to content placement. You can now set the parameter:
to the values ‘start’ or ‘end’ in order to specify the default child placement position that will be used in the authoring portlet when new authoring templates and site areas are created. The default placement position specified in the authoring template determines the default placement position for new content created with that authoring template.
Once you have installed Cumulative Fix 8, the default child placement position that will be used if this parameter is not set is ‘end’. Before installing the Cumulative Fix, the default child placement position was ‘start’. To maintain the previous behaviour, set the value of this parameter to ‘start’.
