The following blog post is about an important change we've made for Lotus Web Content Management 7.0 - the change was that we've removed Site from WCM model. Sites have now become Site Areas.
What's the reason for this change? it's basically an effort to simplify WCM model. Sites was viewed as redundant to Site Areas. We hope that this change will make WCM easier to use.
Some WCM areas impacted by this change:
- Should not break existing customer's API code.
Consider the following API code:
If (object instanceof SiteArea) ----- (1)
Before on WCM 6.X: if object is an API Site type then (1) will be false. And (2) will be true.
- Change apply for tags (Element, Property, URLCmpnt) where you can specify source item type.
