Last year I had already a blog entry on this subject. Just last weeks I had multiple enquiries about "Concurrent Microcode upgrade with z/VSE" for IBM System Storage. Therefore I re-post this topic today.   z/VSE does not support concurrent microcode upgrade during a z/VSE system is active. Therefore I strongly recommend to shutdown the z/VSE system(s) for disk storage microcode upgrades, do the upgrade and re-ipl the z/VSE system.
