The Post Where Turbo Gets All Jib-Jabbery and Elf-Like

What a crazy week. Between Clay Shirky taking the bloom off the budding Second Life rose, and Yahoo and IBM announcing a free enterprise search tool, and Jib Jab releasing their newest episode whos
First, Shirky's post on "Valleywag," entitled "A story too good to check," had a central question: "How many return users are there?" on Second Life, anyhoo?
In essence, Shirky was questioning the churn and ability for the emerging king of the virtual hill to keep Second Life visitors coming back for more.
All this set me off to pondering some of my own questions and observations about this new virtual reality and fast
A) Trying to figure out how to get me some new 2L threads -- I want my avatar to be all haute couture
But I digress. Shirky pretty much in the stroke of a few keystrokes deconstructed the media hype that has become the mad genius behind Linden Labs PR, filling the virtual bubble with some much needed real-world oxygen. Here's hoping we don't run out.
Ah, Bah Humbug, I say. The joyous holiday spirit has filled my own avatar with such joyousness and relish of the hyperbole, I personally have gone to the extreme and created my own Elfish avatar, courtesy of Office Max's "Elfamorphosis."
You can find me taking care of business in all my holiday elf-dancing glory here (Thx to J at the Northeast pole for his inspiration.)
Second, the IBM OmniFind Yahoo! Edition is now offered free of charge and supports up to 500K documents per server, and supporting more than 200 file types and documents in more than 30 languages (does that include "elf?")

Ironically, I was at a Google Seminar-in-a-Box -- well, I wasn't literally in a box -- here in Austin a couple of weeks ago, whereby the Googlers told us that nobody in Corporate America can find pretty much anything inside their firewall.
Yet nobody has trouble finding last night's Britney Spears/Paris Hilton/Lindsey Lohan part
Ah well, I gotta get back to real work in my real job...but in the meantime, feel free to go enjoy my latest bursts of podcasting productivity on our IBM ShortCuts podcast series, including two news episodes from moi, one on privacy and blogging (is there such a thing??) and another choosing the right website creation tools for small business.
Hint: Notepad isn't one of them.
