Sleepless in Madrid

I've been in meetings in Europe this week, first in Paris and now in Madrid, and there hasn't been much time for sleeping, much less blogging.
I hadn't visited here on business or otherwise since 2002, and I'm not sure I could have picked a better week to be here.
The semi-finals of the Euro2008 soccer tournament are in full swing.
I had the opportunity to see the Spain v. Italy match on TV while still in Paris (sorry to all my Italian friends, but 80 years without a loss to Spain is a pretty good run!).
Tonight, it's Turkey v. Germany, and tomorrow night Spain faces off with Russia.
I know better than to play favorites and take a side, but I will be on Spain's home turf here in Madrid as they take on the Russians so....
If you're interested in getting all the lowdown, check out the Euro2008 Website.
I will likely be watching tomorrow night on a big screen TV in the Plaza Colon with a few Spanish friends -- err, make that a few thousand or so.
Meanwhile, know that having brought the MacBook Pro to Europe, which isn't set up to get on the IBM internal wireless network, I've had a hard time staying connected.

In fact, I was taking notes in a meeting in Paris the other day with an ink pen on a piece of Holiday Inn stationary, my computer firmly ensconced in my backpack all day long.
I felt kind of like a caveman. It was very retro.
Maybe I'll start a trend.
