I was having a really crazy and tough Monday and then I saw this headline:
"IBM, United States Golf Association Begin Four-Year Partnership With Launch of usopen.com"
How cool is that!
With this announcement, IBM and the USGA have announced a new four-year agreement making IBM the official technology partner of the USGA, and have also announced the re-launch of usopen.com
As part of the relationship, IBM will also be helping the USGA with its business operations, including the GHIN Network (where I keep my handicap!) and its Member Services.
With regards to the US Open site experience, the site will be the first to allow fans to post messages online via a new fan feedback application, and will also offer up customizable player tracking.
The homepage is also going to offer exclusive real-time scoring and feature a video console with near-HD live-streaming video over the four days of the tournament.
I'm thinking IBM probably might want to think about sending me out to Torrey Pines to make sure we have every angle of this year's tournament fully covered.
From a purely technology perspective, of course.
