Are you ready for some football? That was some serious gridiron action last night in Baltimore between the Patriots and the Ravens.
Kudos to the Ravens for almost sending those Pats home with their first loss of the season. That final Hail Mary (actually the whole final quarter) was awesome, even if it came up short.
While the Pats continued on with their "Unbeaten" label" in Baltimore, Google has gone and went all file folder retro on us by announcing the next evolution of labels in Gmail...in an actually pretty funny post by software engineer Dave Cohen.
Google software engineers have a sense of humor.
In the post, Caveman Dave explains that "in the Paleolithic Era, the world was a very different kind of place," one where "people were hunter-gatherers, lived in caves, and kept all their email in folders."
Oogah oogah. You go now to Office Depot and get more more pretty color hanging file folders. Oogah oogah.
From out of our "email primordial haze," Dave explains, Gmail was born (trumpets ring out!) with "evolutionarily advantageous features" like threaded conversations and "mitochondrial symbiosis between mail and chat."
Who ever figured a funny Google software engineer named Dave would also ever work the work "mitochondrial symbiosis" into a blog post about introducing...
Labels! Pretty color labels in Gmail!
So THAT'S why they hire all those PhDs out there in Mountain View!
