There are 77 companies presenting at DEMO 2008 this week.
It started yesterday, and it ends tomorrow, but if you head on over to the Demo Web site you can still catch some of the action live via their video stream.
I've been reading some of the blog coverage, and a few key themes of the 77 companies "demoing" seem to include a focus on video streaming, Web-based applications (SaaS), social media (including new social networks and new ad models), and mobile applications.
TechCrunch's Mark Hendrickson hits the wavetops with his DEMO 2008 roundup.
If you're not familiar with the event or format, essentially, each participating company pays an $18.5K fee to make their public debut, using the public forum (and, hopefully, press attention) to seek out interest and, usually, financing.
