In the same way that it's possible to install IBM Memory Analzyer into an existing Eclipse workbench, it's now possible to install Garbage Collection and Memory Vizualizer as well. The step to achiving this are very similar to what I covered in "Installing Memory Analyzer into an existing Eclipse Workbench":
If you don't have an existing install of Eclipse, download one from eclipse.org:
Start Eclipse and go to "Help -> Install New Software..." and "Add..." a new update repository of:
Select to "Work with":
"--All Available Sites--"
- Select the following feature to be installed:
label.component.tools.jvm -> IBM Monitoring and Diagnostic Tools for Java - Garbage Collection and Memory Vizualizer
This should update your Eclipse install with Garbage Collection and Memory Vizualiser, which you'll be able to find by opening:
"Windows -> Open Perspective -> Other"
and selecting the "GC and Memory Visualizer Advanced Perspective".
