Pulse labs offer many opportunities to test drive IBM Cloud solutions:
SmartCloud Provisioning, SCP Virtual Image Library
and SCP Image Construction and Composition Tool
by Pam Geiger
You should also know that the enablement team will be there with hands on self paced exercises for a majority of the hot Tivoli solutions. There is no scheduling required,
just drop in and select the lab or labs that you would like to do and take a self guided tour of the solutions. There will be enablement specialists on hand to answer any questions,
and it’s also a great opportunity to provide input to the team on what topics you would like to see future enablement topics on. The lab exercises require anywhere from 30 minutes
to an hour to complete and are a great way to see for yourself how a solution works.
Wondering how easy it really is to build a virtual system pattern in SmartCloud provisioning? Then you may want to attend this lab:
Using IBM SmartCloud Provisioning (ISCP) with the High Scale Low Touch (HSLT) Cloud Group.
In this lab, participants will use SmartCloud Provisioning 2.1 to deploy patterns into an HSLT Cloud Group.
Wondering what it takes to customize a business workflow in your cloud environment? Check out this lab:
Customizing Business Workflows for Cloud Scenarios
In this lab exercise, you customize the built-in Tivoli Service Automation
Manager business workflows to route the service request through an
approval process when a certain criteria is met. You test and verify the
approval workflow by creating a new virtual server deployment request as
the team administrator role and perform the approval action as the cloud administrator.
Have you wanted to see what all the fuss over the Virtual Image Library is all about?
Managing images with the Virtual Image Library component
lab introduces participants to the image management capabilities of the Virtual
component of SmartCloud Provisioning. Indexing, comparing and searching images will be covered,
as well as integration with ISCP.
are just a few examples of labs that will be offered at Pulse 2013. More than 170
hands-on labs are planned and there will be more than
400 laptops available for use. The hands-on labs are a great way to get a feel for the solutions that you will be hearing about at Pulse.
participate, you simply show up and will be directed to an area
containing the proctors knowledgeable about your product. You will
be placed in front of your own lab environment, and away you go. On your way out, don't forget to grab a DVD containing PDFs for all of
the labs in the room. You can visit as many times as you like, so don’t forget to plan the labs into your Pulse schedule.
