PKIX path building failed when developing a JMX client for the WebSphere Liberty REST connector

I've recently been trying out some of the excellent new features in WebSphere Application Server Liberty profile 8.5.5, one of which is called collectives. I wanted to try out some of the JMX operations available for collectives so that I could automate the creation / start of a multi-server Liberty topology. Collectives rely on the REST connector (introduced in 8.5), so I found myself wanting to write some J2SE client code that could connect to my freshly-created Collective Controller and perform some operations via the MBeans.
I followed the Info
KeyStore trustStore = KeyS
InputStream inputStream = new File
TrustManagerFactory trustManagerFactory = Trus
TrustManager trustManagers = trus
SSLContext sslContext = SSLC
Map<String, Object> environment = new HashMap<String, Object>();
JMXServiceURL url = new JMXS
jmxConn = JMXC
(note that I have a single truststore that I am using for connection)
I hope this helps you, leave me a comment if it did.
