Mobile enterprise applications, are typically accessing information on the back end from legacy systems that the business has spent 15 to 20 years integrating together. Many times these systems are being updated in parallel with the development of enterprise mobile apps, which gives rise to the question on how can one effectively test mobile enterprise apps, come integration time? At the end of the day, the sooner we can test our software the better. This leads to reduced defects further along the development and test cycle, which ultimately means cost savings and the ability to delivery product on time with high quality, leading to higher customer satisfaction. In the world of complex enterprise apps where there are a lot of interaction with backend apis, how can we test our mobile apps sooner in order to take advantage of the goal of reduced costs, higher quality, and increased customer satisfaction. Many of those reading this that have experience in testing may be thinking of the notion of stubbing out functionality before it exists, in order to the test your application. Essentially this is what test virtualization is, but how is this accomplished in the area of complex mobile apps?
What I'd like to turn your attention to is the following podcast, where Peter Cole, and expert in the technology of application virtualization, will give you the run down on how this can be accomplished in complex enterprise environments and how Rational can help make this possible for your orga
