Download fixes and updates
IBM Electronic Support provides the latest updates, fixes, and patches for maintaining your IBM environment.
Choose the Support Portal Downloads page to find downloadable code updates. The Downloads and fixes module provides links to fix packs, firmware, device drivers, and other downloads for your products.
Most IBM products, including hardware, software and operating systems, deliver fixes and updates through Fix Central.
Use the Fix Central website to search, select, order, and download fixes to your system with a choice of delivery options. Fix Central can also help identify prerequisite fixes to ensure that the upgrade goes smoothly.
You can also find links to recommended fixes, compatibility information, and tested configurations in the Support Portal Downloads and fixes module. The tools available include the Fix Level Recommendation tool for Power Systems, ServerProven for System x and BladeCenter, and the System Storage Interoperability Center.
When a problem does occur with an IBM product, IBM Electronic Support can help you troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
IBM Support Portal Troubleshoot tab
To start troubleshooting an issue, click the Troubleshoot tab in the Support Portal. The Problem resolution module provides links to the latest known problems and resolutions. Check the Flashes and Alerts module for issues that might need your immediate attention. Also, look at the Before you submit a request module to find out what information to gather before contacting IBM.
IBM Support Assistant
IBM Support Assistant is a free, downloadable troubleshooting workbench available for many software products. Training guides teach you how to use the tool. You can use automated data collectors to gather diagnostic data from remote servers to help troubleshoot problems. This automated data collection is reliable, accurate and saves you time. Download the appropriate collector for your product, extract the package, and begin!
IBM Systems Diagnostic Tools
IBM’s hardware platforms offer tools and resources to diagnose and resolve problems. You can find the tools available for your product on the Support Portal Troubleshoot page. Use these tools to analyze memory and data dumps, optimize system resource usage, improve stability, and identify problems.
IBM Electronic Support provides the tools and resources you need to install and use your IBM products, prevent problems from occurring, keep your products up-to-date, troubleshoot problems that may occur, work with IBM to solve complex problems, and learn with IBM’s training and education offerings.
