SVC, V7000 User Group Meeting - 6th April Hursley
orbist 060000HPM5 Visits (4000)
Greetings one and all!
I am still alive, some months have passed, but I'm still here and should be back to regular posts now!
The main reason for this post is to alert UK and European (and of course anyone further afield that would like to attend) to the first 2011 SVC and Storwize V7000 User Group meeting to be held on the 6th April here in IBM Hursley. See the attached pdf for details.
Last years event was well attended and hopefully everyone that came found it useful - the feedback seemed to suggest so - so I hope to see you all, and some new faces at the event this year.
As for my recent lack of posting, after the mammoth efforts from the team last year to get V7000 out on time, and the subsequent mayhem that ensued from the amazing industry interest and uptake, I finally had three weeks off over the Christmas period where I was re-introduced to my wife and kids (?!) and it was great to switch off completely from all things work.
I vowed this year to make sure I didn't end up working evenings, weekends and the like and so I've been very religious about the laptop staying in the bag when I get home (as much as possible) which has essentially meant my normal blogging time (evenings) have not been happening.
I plan to start a few series of posts over the next couple of weeks, things that have been in my mind for a while - one key one being decoding and understanding the SVC and V7000 performance stats.
I'd also like to open the blog up to more posts answering, or discussing topics from you (my readers - if I still have any!) and so if you have something you'd like me to discuss, explain, or hear my thoughts on, please comment to any of my posts and I'll see what I can do.
Anyway, hope 2011 is going well for you all so far, and hope to see some of you on the 6th.
