I just wanted to post a quick thanks to everyone that took the time out of their day jobs to come to Hursley yesterday for the User Group sessions. I'm hoping that everyone got as much as we did out of the day and it was great to see so many (not just UK) visitors.
I've already started pushing those commonly requested features and functions up the chain, and those no-so liked comments ;)
I look forward to seeing you all, and more at the next one - if I get invited back of course ;)
For those of you waiting for my Ver-plex-ed post... I'm trying to find some substance in the available information - trying very hard... i think they made a mistake in the title and it actually going to be known as V-hype... I'm also struggling to find if all of us have a different definition of "heterogeneous" - it seems to me that EMC think heterogeneous means "not just DMX". I was also thinking initially this was a technology looking for a problem...
It does seem like you can pay a bunch of your companies money for a cluster of boxes that provide no added advanced functions, (no doubt still needs $$$$$$$ of power path license) claims to support everything (without any details provided) and solve the problem of caching without disrupting underlying (read $$$$$$ DMX licensing) advanced functions.
Sound a lot like Invista to me without the $$$ intelligent blades (at least)... now we know where that went.
I suspect time will tell, and expect a full V-hype Pepsi-Max post soon
