Travel and the lessons on consumability
When I started this blog, I had made certain commitments to myself. That I will, have a post here atleast once in a week. I had kept aside some time on Saturday for this interesting task. But the last two weekends, I've been travelling. Travelling by bus .. long hours ... 12 hours to Mangalore, 16 hours to Trivandrum. This was after quite a long time that I was making a travel by bus. Travel in India is changing. And the key thing driving the change was technology. I booked by bus ticket over the web and paid using my credit card. I could never imagine this few years back. I see that this will have huge market in the coming years with lot of lazy people like me who make the travel plans the last minute. Many bus operators now have their online booking facility. Inside the bus the CD players have given way to DVD players and LCD screens with digital audio. Almost everyone had a color display mobile and many were working on their laptops inside the bus. Soon I hope the buses will be upgraded to have charging facility for these devices.
The biggest reason for the technology driven changes has been that the makers of it has made it consumable easily by the masses. In the SOA World, that has been our effort. Make it easy for people to start with SOA ...we have provided the entry point scenarios. These SOA entry points : people, process, information, reuse, and connectivity are based upon real customer experiences and provide a simple way to get started with SOA. Smart SOA makes it even more simpler providing the SOA Sandbox. The IBM SOA Sandbox lets you increase your SOA skills through practical, hands-on experience with the IBM SOA entry points.
Soon I guess SOA is going to make the travel for CIOs better and easier ..just like the way technologies are making bus travel different in this part of the world.
