I'm co-author of an article that was recently published in the IBM Journal of Research and Development. The title is "Exploiting heterogenous multicore-process systems for high-performance network processing." The overall theme of the issue is "Network-Optimized Computing." Several of the papers, including ours, talk about the PRISM chip, a new CPU IBM has been working on. An article in EE Times last month seems to have been the first public announcement, on a paper that IBM presented at the International Solid-State Circuits Conference. I can't find a link to the IBM presentation there.
This is one of the things that makes working at IBM so great. I remember when we found out about the acquisition, several of us then-DataPower folks were excited to be at a place that did both hardware and software. There aren't many of these companies left any more, so being a part of something as cutting-edge as this is an extra bonus.
