I’m sure most of you saw the news about the new Informix 12.1 release on March 26. That next week an article in the IBM Data Magazine was published that gives an overview of the Centaurus release (our code name for the 12.1 release): http://ibmdatamag.com/2013/04/announcing-informix-12-1/
Since I’m one of the authors, this is a shameless plug. But since there is no money involved (at least none that I know about :), it is a harmless plug. It is a quick read and gives you an overview of the key new features in this release.
Our next big event is the IIUG conference next week in San Diego. If you are still on the fence about going, please join us. We have a good assortment of sessions about 12.1, but many other topics as well. Carried over from last year are the IBM track which focuses on other IBM technologies (InfoSphere, BigData, Cognos, Pure, etc) and the Genero track. The IBM track lets you learn about other industry leading IBM software group products. The Genero track will give you 14 sessions to learn everything you want to know (and probably some that you don’t want to know) about Genero. We’ve got two Genero tutorials on Thursday if you still want more after the general sessions.
Read the article on 12.1 and bring your questions and comments to San Diego. We look forward to seeing you there next week!
