ILM (Information Lifecycle Management) - still a Long way to Go
Well, we all have heard of ILM since past 5 years or more. But when I really microscope it, I don't see any "real"
magical advancement to help make this happen. Well there are quite few offerings over it ..but nothing end to end.
One of the notable one which I will like to mention is a IBM Research asset called SAGE

All said, I still feel and as echoed by Bruce Hillsberg (Director, IBM Research - Almaden
in his talk to Indian Universities which I attended last night) - there is still far more potential
for researchers across the world to think on how to identify the "real valuable data" of a given customer
to help execute ILM and storage tiering ( which will become of paramount importance as hybrid storage with
mix of HDD,Flash and other SCM memory) get popular.
