Futurologist Ray Hammond spoke at IMPACT 2008 about the impact of technology on business. I caught up with him to visit about what he calls accelerating exponential technology development. His also touches on his other five key drivers for the future -- population explosion, climate change, energy crisis, globalization, and high tech medicine.

Ray Hammond is Europe's most experienced and most widely published futurologist. For over 25 years he has researched, written, spoken and broadcast about how future trends will affect society and business. He is the author of four futuristic novels, ten non-fiction books and various film, TV and radio dramas. His books have been best-sellers in the USA, UK, France, Spain, Poland, Japan and China. He is published globally by Macmillan.His non-fiction writing includes The On-Line Handbook which was published in 1984. It was the world's first book to describe the commercial potential of the internet. Ray is in world-wide demand for speaking on climate change, the impact of technology on business and the future of energy. He is also a regular broadcaster on US and European television and radio networks. Based in London, he is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (F.R.S.A.), a contributing editor to the Human-Computer Interaction Laboratory at the University of Maryland, U.S.A. and a visiting lecturer at the London Business School.
