Flying to New York this evening I overheard what I'm certain must be close to a record-breaker for most business jargon in a single continuous conversation. I never turned and looked back at the man and woman talking but I could sense, by his relative silence, that he was struggling through the conversation as listener. I stopped counting after she said "deep-dive analysis" 20 times. It starts to loose its punch after 15. Is there a curfew on that phrase? Can you use it past 8pm or beyond 20 mentions in a single chat? I think there should be some restrictions and punishment for violation -- something like, you break curfew and you have to say it backward from then on. I'll volunteer to police these conversations for the airlines, at least on the flights I'm on. Heck, it would be more fun than reading the in-flight magazine that someone tore all of the good stories out of.
