Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the World Wide Web, last Friday for an upcoming developerWorks Interviews podcast. Just listening to this intriquing man speak about his unsurpassed up close look at the evolution of the Web was a real treat. He spoke in broad brushstrokes about his early work with hypertext in creating ENQUIRE, sort of a closed-system database utilizing bidirectional hyperlinks, and years later coming up with the idea of marrying hypertext with TCP and DNS to create the means for fostering the World Wide Web. He shares his views on Web 2.0, on emerging Internet technologies that he is excited about (specifically Ajax), and talks about his current focus -- the semantic Web. The podcast interview is scheduled to publish on August 17. Keep an eye on the dW home page or on the dW podcast page for details.
