Have you ever wondered how much time is lost to non-productive work and how test teams struggle to deal with these lost hours? Particularly when their managers believe that they are continuously testing the software being developed for the benefit of the company they work for.
If you are like me, perhaps you want to know the impact of these testing interruptions - adhoc meetings, processing email, etc? As I searched the internet seeking this knowledge, I soon came across bits of data but they were usually a re-cap of conversations the author had with small groups of testers or their narration of a specific discussion they may have had with another respected Test professional. It is not that I didn't believe what I was reading, I just wanted more - more data captured from a larger group of Test Professionals from around the world. And then I had that "AHA" moment. Why didn't I try working with a community where there were hundreds of active members working collectively to improve software quality.
