For several weeks now, I'm working on a ever evolving RPE template using CLM data. You might say, weeks!?! Does it take that long. Yes and no. First the no, the technique is easy if you have some tips and tricks. Within minutes you have a basic template which you can run and use in production. But than it strikes you. What do I want to report? How do you want to do this? What a good way of representing. That's exploration, making improvements based on what you have. While I was doing this I learned a lot of RPE, RQM, traceablity and REST, OSLC and other subjects. It's like walking before running... While I was exploring and asking around on the fora, I discovered some other nice features of RPE. I can say, I'm having a good pace now, some might call it running.. I can endorse the combination of RQM and RPE/RRDG.
What to do with that knowledge? It started with a customer request. We proved that we could create the requested reports. I am sharing my experience on my site. It's great that I could help my colleague in India. And now, I used it for my submission for Innovate 2014. The submissions were open, so I give it a try. There are always a lot of submissions and just a few slots! It would be great if this was selected. It a battle for quality speakers!
