So you've got your SmartCloud Entry system up, it looks all lovely, snazzy and is happily deploying your PowerVM images. Life is great, so your showing off your new Cloud to the department and someone asks; "How you do a capture of the instance". No problem you think, click the capture button and BANG! it fails..
Panic, why the hell does it not work, and what does that message mean?
"Problem Taking instance snapshot.
CYX4713E Explanation: Cannot take snapshot from instance aix-deply as its does not meet the capture re-requisites for the PowerVM Cloud. Response: Wait until the instance is active on the Cloud, then try again."
Looking at it you would thing maybe the system has not yet finished deploying, so its simply not ready for a capture. In reality it is much simpler then that, you just haven't stopped the server yet. In order to take a capture of a instance you need to stop it first, once the stop is complete (as it runs activation engine on the shutdown) the instance will happily be captured and all is fine in the Cloud again.
