Power hardware for Financial Applications on IBM’s POWER7+At IBM my work involves the support or Business Partners and Independent Software Vendor's in their efforts to make better use of IBM's hardware/software. In my case this work normally relates to IBM POWER6, POWER7 and POWER7+, running Unix using AIX, or Linux using Redhat and SLES. At the IBM Inovation Centre (IIC) Hursley in Hampshire we have a number of examples of hardware that we can test on, relating from old POWER6 blades like JS43's to the latest POWER7+ P770's and P760's with 32/48 cores and 1TB of RAM. One of these pieces of work that I did with a customer called Xcelerit has written a fine article on the potential use of POWER7+ in the financial industry -
