Look for launch in '09: Yep, it's another category here at the old blog -- Cell/B.E. systems seem to be moving into other-than-game infotainment areas, like Toshiba's next-gen, flat-panel TV the company intends to have ready by Fall 2009. Toshiba debuted the set at CEATEC Japan 2008 (September 30-October 4, 2008); the company had shown off a prototype at the CES, but this time there was a definite pitch for Cell/B.E. TV's real-world advantages. Like 48 video streams at once, simultaneous record and playback from different sources, ability to do high-res and normal capture and display, the ability to decode eight live broadcast streams at the same time, and besting digital signal TV at channel-changing speed.
